An Important Feldenkrais Pelvic Clock class this week (Jan. 29 and 31)

Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement Class this week:

Equestrians, people with balance and stability concerns, or if you have SI joint issues, low back pain, hip pain or, conversely, are a dancer, performer or athlete who wants to improve your competitive edge -- this class is for you.

The PELVIC CLOCK concept and movements are a unique discovery of Dr. Feldenkrais. Doing these carefully structured movement sequences reorganizes the connections between the spine, pelvis, hips and legs. This means that movement and communication between these parts are improved greatly.  Our natural timing, refinement of movement and all the complex aspects that play into comfortable, efficient and graceful use of our bodies are more well aligned and functionally better, in every day activities and in all the things we love to do.

The lesson begins and ends in standing; we incorporate sensing and tracking the movement of chest and pelvis in various movements by placing our hands on these bony landmarks and getting a doubly powerful input from our self sensing.  We move mindfully and slowly around the clock in special order and directions, noticing where such movement is clear and easy, and where it is not.

Remaining pelvic clock classes this week are 5:30 pm on Thurs. Jan 29 at the Reno Buddhist Center, (820 Plumas St. at Taylor in Reno) and 3 pm on Saturday Jan. 31 at Midtown Fitness (600 S. Center St., Reno).  Contact me and plan to come at least 15 mins. early to your first class.
Hope to see you!

Hi everyone!

Just a short update to make sure people are aware of this temporary change -- for one week only, on January 17,  my usual 3:00 pm Midtown Fitness Awareness Through Movement class will be held at the Reno Buddhist Center (820 Plumas St. at Taylor) instead. There is a special activity taking place at MTF on this day.

Next week, on January 24, the Saturday 3 pm class will be back at Midtown Fitness as usual.  If you have any questions, please contact me!

Thanks and have a great week!

Bringing Balance into the New Year

Looking for Balance?

The Feldenkrais Method lets you find balance deeply, at the level of your skeletal and nervous systems.  It goes far beyond the well-known results of pain relief and improved movement.

Feldenkrais brings vitality, creativity and harmony into our lives in unexpected ways, for people of all ages - from infants to people in their 90s.  What we learn in classes and individual lessons is applicable to all your activities. Greater self-awareness, alignment, balance, feeling and moving well are the elements that bring meaning and joy back into our lives, whatever we do.

Classes have begun for the 2015 schedule.  Please join us and find out what a little more balance in your life can mean for you.  Best wishes and Happy New Year!
