Finding successful, non-drug, non-surgical ways to alleviate or reduce physical pain is one of the foremost reasons people seek out the Feldenkrais Method. In this recorded program Aches and Gains®America's First Radio Show Dedicated to Overcoming Pain with Dr. Paul Christo, Christo interviews a Feldenkrais student who has recovered from chronic and severe neck, shoulder and nervous system injuries using the Feldenkrais Method. Her practitioner, Paris Kern, is interviewed afterward. What follows is a really helpful, insightful and detailed explanation of how the method works, how it is different from other modalities and why you might also benefit from Awareness Through Movement® classes or individual Functional Integration® lessons.
Click below to listen to the entire sequence via sound cloud. Presented by the Feldenkrais Guild of North America® in June 2017. Original radio program was recorded in 2015.

3 - 2 - 1: This is the count down. Classes end after Dec. 15 and resume on Jan. 8, 2019
Only 3 more weeks of classes before winter break (of 3 weeks too): Reno Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement classes end after class on Saturday Dec. 15, and start up again the second week of January, 2019, on Tues January 8. Times and venues are the same.
This week we explore the relationship between shoulder girdle and pelvic girdle through the arms and legs (and spine, of course), with nuances and some turning of the pelvis. Integrating shoulders and hips, improving range of movement in shoulder girdle.
The lesson is done mostly on the floor, but also in sitting (on the floor) and kneeling. It is a cool extension of a lesson we have done before.
Remember the basic principle of Feldy teaching is to use the movements to discover where movement is easy for you and where are your limitations. And to always stay in the realm of easy, comfortable and light. So revealing and so healing that way! And moving in the direction of improvement continuously. Even as you learn to feel change in your body from movement variation to variation, you ARE changing.
Noon today (TUES) at 250 Bell St. Come 15 mins early if this is your first class. If you have questions, contact me using the form on the page above to the right.
